Laura Landry

Laura Landry is excited to join Abbot-Downing School as the new Assistant Principal.  Mrs. Landry graduated from the University of Maine @ Farmington with a Bachelor's degree in Community Health Education. After college, she became employed as the Executive Director for Granite State Dairy Promotion, a non-profit organization. After determining that her favorite part of her job was working with teachers and students, she went on to earn her certification to teach elementary education and special education from New England College in 2005.  Mrs. Landry was a 3rd grade classroom teacher for 6 years in Danbury, NH before switching over to special education teaching at Dunbarton Elementary School in 2012.  In 2015, she moved to administration and became the Student Services Coordinator for the Dunbarton School District, overseeing all student services from preschool through age 21.  While in Dunbarton, Mrs. Landry developed a school therapy dog program for students and staff at DES.  Her dog Lynx became an invaluable tool to support students and staff at DES. She was on the MTSS-B committee as well as the administrator in charge of developing the Student Support Center.

Mrs. Landry lives in Bow with her husband of 18 years and their two boys Matthew and Jon. In addition to her dog Lynx, she has a cat, 7 chickens, and a cow.  She is a leader for the Merrimack County 4-H Dairy Club as well as a foster parent.  In her free time, Mrs. Landry enjoys camping, biking, traveling, and spending time with her family going on adventures.

As a former Conant Elementary School student, Mrs. Landry is excited to return to the southend and give back to the community where she grew up.
