ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL SAFETY

Drop-off and pick-up times are very busy at ADS. Please review the procedures carefully to help keep everyone safe.

Important Reminders

Drop off and pick up students only in designated safe areas.

Be alert and watch for students who are walking or riding bicycles.

Students riding bicycles must dismount and walk their bikes while on school property.

Students walking to and from school must use designated sidewalks whenever available.

ARRIVAL

Student drop-off takes place from 7:30 AM to 7:45 AM, providing families with a full 15-minute arrival window each morning.

The rear entrances close at 7:45 AM. After that time, students are no longer supervised at those entrances. If you arrive after 7:45 AM, please drive or walk your child to the main office entrance.

Students are marked tardy at 7:50 AM. Any student arriving after 7:50 AM must be signed in through the office by a parent or guardian.

Please keep students in the vehicle until after the lanes split. Once you enter one of the drop-off lanes, pull forward to the furthest available opening and come to a complete stop before your student exits.

  • Students must exit on the passenger side, directly toward the curb and away from moving traffic.
  • Please remain in your vehicle while using the drop-off lanes and follow the directions of ADS staff.
  • If you are directed into the bus lane, please pull forward slowly to the orange cone past the crosswalk on the right-hand side.
  • If you would like to walk your student to the doors, please use an alternative off-campus drop-off location.
  • If a family member or friend will be driving or picking up your child, please make sure they are familiar with these procedures.

If you feel your child can walk a short distance independently to or from school, consider using one of the following alternative drop-off and pick-up locations:

  • Bow Street (near Rollins Park)
  • Carter Street (near the South Street intersection)
  • South Street (ADS side, approaching from Rite Aid)
  • Conant Drive (past the Rundlett Middle School exit, around the curve near the football field)

 

DISMISSAL

Families must use Pickup Patrol to communicate their student's dismissal plans to the school. If you choose the "Walker Without Adult" option, you may arrange for your child to meet you at an off-campus location. For students dismissed to locations such as Bow Street or Carter Street, crossing guards are available to assist them in crossing safely.

Other dismissal options include riding a Concord School District bus, the Boys & Girls Club bus, the Eastside Learning Center bus, or attending the YMCA (students must be pre-registered for all of these options).

If you are picking up your child, please select either "Walking Pickup with Adult" or "Carline Pickup" in Pickup Patrol.

Carline Pickup

The dismissal lane assignments are as follows:

  • Kindergarten and Grade 1: Lane closest to the school
  • Grades 2 and 3: Middle lane
  • Grades 4 and 5: Lane located in the staff parking lot

If you need a replacement ADS car pickup sign, please email Mrs. Martin at amartin@sau8.org, and a new sign will be issued to you.
