P.E.G
Rundlett Middle School's after school theatre program - the Performance Ensemble Group, or PEG, as it's called - performs two shows each year. In the fall, we present a "straight" (non-musical) play, and in the spring, we produce a musical.
PEG is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders who have an interest in either performing on stage as cast members or working backstage as a crew member in the various roles needed to bring a live theatrical show to life!
Auditions for actors are in September for the fall show, not long after school is back in session, and January for the musical, after the holiday break. Crew members can sign up by filling out a crew registration form after auditions have been held for the actors. Rehearsals for actors are held three days a week from 3:45 to 5:30. Crew members are typically not needed until a week or so before Production Week, which is when all cast and crew are required to attend every day/evening for rehearsals and performances.
PEG just "wrapped" our fall production - "The Crazy Cowgirls of Pemberley Ranch" - which was a comical take-off on Jane Austen's famous novel, Pride and Prejudice, but set in 1880's Texas, rather than 1819 Regency England! Cast and crew did a remarkable job bringing to life the challenging script, and audiences enjoyed the show as they laughed and applauded the characters' antics! See
the photos for a look at the show!
Coming up in January: AUDITIONS for the spring musical - "Guys and Dolls Jr." Announcements will be made and an information flyer will be posted outside Mrs. Allard's Chorus Room in the 600 wing in January when school resumes. There will also be an Information Meeting in December for any actors and crew members interested in finding out more about this show."
