Welcome to the Abbot-Downing School, Home of the Mustangs! Abbot-Downing was built back in 2011 to combine both Conant and Rumford Schools. This past year, the Abbot-Downing Historical Society came back to ADS to provide professional development of Abbot-Downing’s impact on the south end of Concord, as well as the transportation industry. At the end of the year, the AD Historical Society brought back a “coach” for the students to view and learn more about. They also provided an in-school field trip to our 3rd Grade as part of the curriculum.
We continue to develop our approach to Social Emotional Learning through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and Choose Love. Using the CASEL competencies, we used our last professional development with the staff to focus on developing a “crosswalk” between our Universal Expectations (ABCs of Abbot-Downing) and Choose Love themes.
This year, we will continue to use our communication methods of the daily Mustang Morning Message (emailed home), ParentSquare, ADS Facebook page, and our website; these are the platforms we use to share information about Abbot-Downing School.
