Beaver Meadow Principal Michele Vance has over 27 years of experience in public education as a teacher assistant, teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1998. In 2011, she received her master’s degree in administration from Rivier University. In 2022 she received her College Advanced Graduate Degree in Competency Based Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
Prior to beginning her teaching career, Principal Vance served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1988 until 1996. As an active-duty service member, she was trained as a medical administrative specialist. While stationed in Tokyo, Japan she taught conversational English. This experience led her in the direction to begin coursework in elementary education.
While living in Alaska, Principal Vance taught kindergarten, first, fourth and sixth grade. When her family relocated to New Hampshire, she taught multi-age ¾, 4th, and 5th grades in Nashua over an eleven-year span. Principal Vance loved being a classroom teacher and became passionate about educational leadership.
Principal Vance is an avid reader and enjoys all genres except scary stories. Hiking, bird watching, boating, and enjoying time with family and friends at the lake are her favorite past times. She is a country music fan and loves to attend theatre productions. She has two beautiful children, her son, Connor, is a Concord Police Officer and her daughter, Mary, is studying to earn her business degree at the University of Maine. She lives in Meredith with her life partner Bill.
